Panthers Fall at the Buzzer to STLCOP 71 - 68

St. LOUIS, MO. --The Principia College men's basketball team traveled to St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Tuesaday night,11/20/12, for a non-conference match-up between the Panthers and the Eutetics. Although Principia led by as many as 12 point in the second half, the Euts used their superior height to even the score at 68 all with 15 seconds left in the game. Pharmacy had the possesion and called a time out to set up their final play. Coming off a screen away, #12 Shawn Menchowsky was able to fire a difficult three from beyond the right wing arc. The shot swished through the net with 4.6 seconds remaining. Principia burned it's last time-out to try and counter. The ball came in to Panther Larry Patterson who dribbled the length of the floor to heft a last second 3-pointer. Dan Hermann of the Euts just got a piece so that the shot fell short off front rim. The Panthers were led in scoring by Matt Jones with 20 points, Larry Patterson with 16, and Damon Wilgus with 15. The Euts superior size was evidenced by the rebounding discrepency: Euts - 39 and Panthers - 19. The Panthers next opponent is Greenville College, their conference opener, at home on 11/ 29/12. Hope to see you there.
