Box Score CARLINVILLE, ILL. --On Tuesday night, February 21st, the Principia College Panthers traveled to Blackburn College for their final game of the season. The Blackburn Beavers came away with the win by the score of 89-75. The game was a very physical contest with Blackburn using its superior size and strength to manhandle the smaller and lighter Panther team. With four minutes left Principia was down by seven when a turn of events led to a 7 point play for Blackburn and the game became out of reach as the Beavers milked their 14 point lead to the final horn.
Matt Jones was clearly the outstanding player for Principia with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and a host of great hustle plays that kept Principia in the game all night. Madison Medley was the star for Blackburn and used his inside presence to set the tone for the Beavers, scoring 21 points, with 12 rebounds, and 2 steals. Both teams finshed the season out of the running for post season play, and will now begin their off-season training for next year.
