Panthers Threaten Gorloks but Fall Short at the End

Box Score ELSAH, ILL. -- The Principia Panthers played with great fire but came up short on Tuesday night against the Webster University Gorloks by the score of 76-67. A strong first half saw the Panthers go into the locker room at halftime tied 27 all. Shooting only 41% from the field the Panthers were unable to keep up with the hot shooting Gorloks who finished at 53%. The second half saw Webster go to their inside game and Principia just didn't have an answer. Senior Colin Angle led the Panthers in scoring with 16 points on the night and also joined the 1000 point club for his career at Principia. Senior Justin MacDonald scored 15 and sophomores Kenny Sydness and Damon Wilgus each had 12. Matt Jones and Stanley Beal rounded out the scoring and along with senior Tommy Heninger did outstanding jobs at the defensive end. The Panthers team also includes Freshmen Snake Elmore and Tazer Sebring whose contributions to this team continue to prepare them for their future rolls as team leaders. Principia next travels to Fontbonne University on Tuesday night, February 14th. Tip-off 8:00 pm.
