Luke Ball got the start going 6 innings, giving up 5 runs, but only one earned run, and scattering 4 hits. Both starting pitchers were in control through the first 5 innings, but in the 6
th the Dutch capitalized on some Panther miscues breaking the game open scoring 5 runs.
Robbie Nickell and
Scott Ross came in relief and the Dutch continued to add runs scoring five more runs over the next three innings to put the game out of reach. On the day the Panthers allowed 10 runs, but only three were earned. The Dutch pitching staff kept the Panthers offense off balance throughout the game, although there were opportunities early in the game, but Principia was unable to break through. The Panthers are back in action Monday March 12
th, when they take on SUNY Plattsburg in a doubleheader starting at 9am.
