Greenville outplays Principia win 10-1

Elsah, Ill. --On a wet evening, Principia played host to Greenville College in game one of a three game series.  Sophomore Luke Ball took the mound and pitched well.  Both teams threw up zeros the first three innings.  In the fourth inning Greenville struck first and scored two unearned.  Principia was unable to respond getting shutout until scoring one in the eighth.  Greenville scored two more in the fifth and five more in the sixth.  Luke went 5.2 and was replaced by senior Robbie Nickell. Nickell escaped the jam in the sixth and threw a scoreless seventh. Jake Elmore pitched a scoreless eighth and gave way to Scott Ross

Principia gave up nine runs though six innings on six hits. Panther hitters had a combined 4 hits coming from Spencer Clevenger, Robbie Nickell, Alan Cheatham, and Gavin Thomas.  Greenville had 10 runs on nine hits and four errors.  Principia had one run on four hits and eight errors. 
Principia is scheduled to play two at Greenville tomorrow beginning at 12:00pm. Principia is still on the hunt for their first conference win.  Weather may become a factor so follow Principia Baseball on twitter for updates.  @PrincipiaBase
