Principia baseball competes hard but fall to Blackburn 6-4

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Carlinville, IL.-- The Panthers jumped up 4-2 on the Beavers in the 5th inning, but were unable to hold the lead as the Beavers answered with 3 runs in the 5th and one more in the 6th innning. Senior Greg Ball got the start going 5 innings, giving up 5 runs and 4 earned runs striking out 5 while walking 4. The Beavers tied the game on a bases loaded walk and took the lead on a balk. Greg battled hard and did not have his best stuff. Gavin Thomas came in relief pitching three strong innings giving up one run while striking out 4 batters. Alan Cheatham paced the Panthers going 3 for 4 with 4 doubles, Kit Banko added 2 hits.
