Luke Ball throws complete game as Cheatham powers Panthers to a 8-2 victory

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Elsah, IL.-- Alan Cheatham helped the Panthers jump up early with a three run blast in the first inning. Spencer Clevenger leadoff the game with a double and Gavin Thomas followed with a single. The inning continued as both Justin MacDonald and Greg Ball single and then Steve Harmon ripped a ground rule double.

The Panthers continued to add on with two runs in the third. Kit Banko leadoff with a double and Justin MacDonald reached on an error. Steve Harmon drove in Kit with a single and then Justin scored on a wild pitch. In the fourth inning the Panthers added two more runs. Gavin Thomas reached on an error, Alan Cheatham hit a single, and then Kit Banko drove in both runs with a single.

With the offense in high gear Sophomore Luke Ball threw a couple game pitching 7 strong innings, allowing 2 runs, and striking out 7. Luke dominated the game and won his third game in a row after a slow start to the season. Alan Cheatham continued his impressive week going 2 for 4 with a homerun and 3 RBI's. Alan finished the week 10 for 15, with 12 RBI's, 2 homeruns, 3 doubles, and a triple. Kit Banko, Greg Ball, and Steve Harmon all finished with two hits while Spencer Clevenger, Justin MacDonald, and Gavin Thomas all collected a hit. The Panthers are back in action on Monday to complete the Blackburn series as game 3 was halted due to rain with Blackburn leading 2-0 in the 2nd inning.
