A tough day for Prin volleyball

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TERRE HAUTE, IN. -- The Panthers traveled to Indiana to compete against Rose Hulman and Transylvania University, and the day ended 0-2 against these tough competitors.  Today Prin's usually well-rounded offensive attack hit a bumpy patch, to say the least. Transylvania came out strong and Prin had some serious ball control challenges. And ball control challenges turned into attacking challenges. Prin hit .064 for the match with an uncharacteristic 16% error (season average is 8%).The team hung in the best they could, but Transylvania took the “w” without much of a fight.

Prin then played host Rose-Hulman, and  got their game going in the right direction. The Panthers played smart and patient, and were defensive beasts! However, the offense was still too predictable and error laden, and this allowed Rose to defend and transition into their multi-faceted offense. Prin took Rose to four games, but Rose was clearly in control of the match. Prin hit .084 for the match with another 16% error. Jessyca MacMullin  picked up a team high 20 digs, and Kiersten Andersen had 18 and Summer Switzer 13. Tess led the offense with 19 kills and Kiersten put together a very effective offense leading the team hitting .200.

The team looks to get back on their game Tuesday night as they take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy and University of Lindenwood-Belleville at Hay Fieldhouse at 6 and 8pm.
