Eureka Defeats Principia 88-43

Box Score EUREKA, ILL. -- On Thursday night the Principia Panthers traveled to Eureka College, hoping to get their first conference win of the 2012-13 basketball season.  Eureka proved to be too strong and defeated the Panthers by the score of 88 - 43.  The Panthers were led by Kenny Sydness who had 21 points and 9 rebounds in the losing effort.  Stanley Beal also had a fine game with 10 points and 6 rebounds.  Eureka had 13 players in the scoring column, led by junior guard Rian Nailor's 13 points.  Eureka was hot from long range, connecting on 14 three pointers out of 29 attempts. However, it was their inside game that was the decisive element of the evening's contest.  Eureka's 6'8" Mark Lesson and 325 lb D.T. Thornton dominated the paint and scored at will against the smaller Panthers.

The Panthers' next opportunity at a conference win will be against Webster University on Saturday afternoon.  Tip-off time will be 3:00 CDT.
