LINCOLN, ILL. -- Today the Principia College Lady Panthers faced the Red Lions of Lincoln Christian College in their first and only match-up of the season.  It was a rocky road from the start, and despite going up 7 at one point in the 1st half, Principia never really found their groove.  With two key starters unable to attend the game, Principia was playing with a different lineup than usual.  They still fought hard from start to finish, but the different combination of players seemed to keep the team from finding a good flow.  Up two at half, then back and forth with the Red Lions for all of the 2nd half, the Panthers kept it competitive, and a crucial three from senior forward Jocelyn Shoemake gave Principia a glimmer of a lead.  But a three point shot at the buzzer by Lincoln Christian kept the Panthers from bringing the victory home with them.  A final score of 68-69 gave the Lincoln Christian Red Lions their 5th victory of the season.

Principia will be back at full roster for their next game against the Beavers of Blackburn College.  The game is scheduled for Tuesday, January 29th at 6:00 pm.
