Box Score ELSAH, ILL. -- Thursday night at Hay Field House on the Principia College campus, the Illinois Blue Boys came for a visit and left with a 91-44 victory. Although Principia started fast and jumped out to a 9 -0 lead, Illinois college was able to fight back and tie the game at the 6 minute mark of the first half with the score knotted at 24 all. From that point on it was IC in control, going in to the half time with a 14 point lead. The Prin Panthers were playing short handed, and with just 6 players able to suit up for the contest, they gave their best effort. As the game wore on fatigue certainly became a factor.
Kenny Sydness led the Panthers with 14 points and did a nice job taking over some of the point guard responsibilities.
Dorian Watkins had 9 points and battled all night long against the IC big men and did a nice job, even though playing major time for the first time this season. Principia will return to conference play on Saturday afternoon against Blackburn College. Tip-off will be at 3:00 at Hay field house.
