Women's soccer loses to Webster University 4-1

Box Score St. Louis, Mo-- Tonight the Panthers faced off against the Gorloks losing 4-1. The turf field made it difficult for the Panthers to control the pace of the game with their possession. The Gorloks played hard, winning most of the 50-50 balls and putting the Panthers under attack for most of the half. Due to a slow start, the Panthers found themselves in a tricky situation, trailing behind 2-0 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Panthers modified their formation and came out with more fire and fight. However, as they were figuring out our new strategy, the Gorloks capitalized on two more goals, putting the Panthers behind 4-0. Nonetheless, the Panthers continued to fight, and dominated for most of the second half, forcing the Gorloks to play more defensive. Finally, a goal by sophomore, Gabby Martin, helped the Panthers keep momentum and continue to battle.

Although the game did not go as we had hoped, one thing we can take from this experience is the fact that we didn't give up. In the second half, every single player stepped up and played with their whole heart and as a coaching staff, that is what makes us proud.

The golden boot was awarded to Martin for her goal and the Lunch Pail award was given to the whole team for their efforts in the second half.
