Volleyball stumbles against Spalding

Box Score The volleyball team knew they would have to  be solid on defense to hold Spalding at bay. Spalding was determined to avenge an early season loss to the Panthers, and has put together a very progressive season. Prin pounced on Spalding early earning a 25-10 victory, but apparently that was enough to wake up the Golden Eagles to a different level of play in game two and beyond. Spalding hit hard and they hit smart, and Prin was a bit out of sync for the rest of the day.

In the end Spalding out-competed the Panthers. Prin out-hit Spalding .193 to .152. Prin out-served Spalding 93% to 83%, out-dug them 94 to 71, out-blocked them 10 to 8, but Spalding got the "w". Spalding showed extreme mental toughness as they came back from a game one beating, and Prin never could find their mental rhythm after that. The team will keep attacking this part of the game, and will work to express more dominion every single day!

Christine Nacewicz led the team offensively hitting .312 with only one error for the whole match.  She was determined and effective at the net with three solo blocks and two block assists. Summer Switzer was tenacious on defense picking up 29 Spalding hits, and Sierra Sprague was the lone member of the 100% serving club going 14/14 at the line.
