Box Score ELSAH, ILL. -- The volleyball team started anew this week with a 3-0 sweep of Eureka College in front of a feisty fun group of fans. The Panthers kept their back court play tight, and their attack was powerful and diverse.
Sierra Sprague was a force tonight hitting .462 with zero errors and six kills. Sierra passed spot on (2.2), picked up 12 digs and had two blocks as well. Sierra was also the lone member of the 100% serving club tonight - Â with two aces. It was a well rounded offensive effort as setter
Savanna Sprague delivered the ball to all of our hitters keeping everyone in the action. Savanna added a service ace and tallied 30 assists (10.0/set). Â The Panthers hit quick balls and powerful balls, as well as finding open spots on the court to score. Tess finished with 12 kills hitting .417, and also had two blocks and three aces.
Christine Nacewicz mixed up her hitting with powering balls down the line and mixing in off speed shots to drive Eureka crazy. Jess Bushong was a nice presence at the net hitting and blocking. She powered some kills to the ground and tipped to the holes. Jess recorded two blocks as well.
Summer Switzer showed her normal relentless pursuit of the ball and the win. Her steady presence in the back court is so integral to the team's success. Summer picked up 16 digs and served up a match high of four aces.
Molly Moser led the Panther passing at 2.3 and dug 10 Eureka balls.
The volleyball team travels to MacMurray for two matches at 11 and 1 on Saturday.
