Box Score The Principia men's soccer team bounced back with a comfortable 2-0 win over Eureka College on Saturday afternoon in Eureka, IL. With tailing cross winds throughout the match, the Panthers and Devils had to adjust to the conditions with Eureka gaining the edge at home. Principia however, was committed to the cause, and kept pursuing the opener which came in the 43rd minute through
Abi Carper, whose clinical finish was a result of a good interchange between
John Gotwals and
Nate Waters.
The second half was a better outing for Principia as they continued to dominate possession. Another solid combination between
Evan Sperr, Waters and
Laurencce Martins would find the crossing run of Gotwals who made no mistake tucking the ball in the bottom left corner past the goalkeeper. Other notables included
Andrew Powell and
Lucas Dias who continue to impress, while
Gavin Thomas walked away with a clean sheet. Principia travels this upcoming Tuesday to Jacksonville, IL to take on Macmurray College at 1:00 pm.
