5-0 victory for Principia Women's Soccer

Box Score Eureka, Ill. - Principia women's soccer wins big in Eureka with a score of 5-0. The first goal was scored by senior Hayley MacWilliams off a cross from senior Hayley Cooke in the 34th minute.  MacWilliams found the back of the net again in the 44th min off a pass from sophomore Gabriella Martin to give Principia a 2-0 lead at halftime.   
In the second half, Principia came out firing. This time the favor was returned with MacWilliams assisting Martin with a crisp through ball that Martin ran onto and pushed past the keeper (50th min). Senior Carlie Sanderude had the fourth goal (55th min) with a blasting shot outside the 18 with the assist credited to freshman Samantha Bronkar. The fifth and final goal (71st min)  was an assist from Sanderude to MacWilliams.   MacWilliams won the team's "Golden Boot" award for her 3 goals and assist.  Sanderude was the team "Lunch Pail" winner for her hard work ethic and tenacious ball winning in the middle of the field. 

Senior Murilla King and freshman Genevieve Smith shared the shutout. This marks the Panthers seventh shutout of the season.   
This Tuesday the women's soccer team travels to MacMurray College for their penultimate regular season conference match.
