Box Score The Panthers struggled at the get-go! It wasn't pretty, and before you know it Prin was down 8-14. Even though it wasn't coming easily, Prin kept at it, and slowly caught up 16-20, 20-23, and finally snagged victory out of the jaws of defeat with a 25-23 game one win. Game two and three were well in Prin's control , but still not quite up to par.
Jess Bushong and
Christine Nacewicz set the stage offensively. They were attacking bold, mixing hard hits in with picking on holes in the Eureka defense. Nac put down eight kills (.350) and Jess killed five (.364). Summer and Molly were nails at the service line – Summer with four aces and Molly with three. Summer,
Savanna Sprague,
Christine Nacewicz,
Sierra Sprague, and
Deanna Scheck all served 100% for the night.
The Panther defense struggled with Eureka's deep hits at the beginning of the night, but they got the hang of it as the night wore on.
Molly Moser was "all in" tonight and really helped turn the team around in passing and defense. She passed 6/6 perfect balls and added 10 digs. Summer and Molly really helped the team find their steadiness and resolve to take control when it seemed impossible. Deanna came off the bench and played solid backrow (serving, passing and digging).
Sara Stephenson did a nice job off the bench as well – she was a steady presence at the net.
The Panthers are 13-6, and match up Saturday against #1 Greenville and Fontbonne, who is fighting for the 3
rd place spot against Prin.
