A Tough Loss to MacMurray

Box Score Principia College men's basketball played hard, but could not keep up with the MacMurray College Highlanders on Saturday afternoon, losing by the final of 93-61. The Panthers were able to keep it close though they turned the ball over 8 of their last 13 possessions in the first half. The Highlanders jumped out to a 21-point at half-time. Although the Panthers worked hard, they could not find the basket in the second half, scoring on only 3 of their first 15 possessions. MacMurray jumped quickly to a 30-point lead with Principia playing about even from that point on. Damon Wilgus led the team with 17 points, while Sawyer Grow contributed 12. Team-leading scorer Kenny Sydness was held to 11 points by the aggressive and physical play of the Highlanders. Principia is now 0-2 in conference play. They will meet conference opponent Westminster next weekend (Saturday, December 14) before Christmas break. Game time wil be 4:00pm at Hay fieldhouse.
