DeNicholas leads Panthers in conference loss vs. Greenville

Box Score

GREENVILLE, ILL. -- Tonight the Principia College women's basketball team faced the Panthers of Greenville College in their 2nd meeting of the season.  Having lost to Greenville back in November, Principia was anxious to even the score in the new year.  But a rocky start jolted the Panther's resolution, and despite a roller coaster 1st half, Principia never really found the rhythm necessary to take control of the game.  With spurts of brilliance, the Panthers managed to keep the score manageable for a good portion, but the consistency was lacking, and Greenville was able to break the game open.  As usual, Principia played hard until the final buzzer, finishing some solid plays, and demonstrating the potential they have to develop.  Principia was particularly aided by the solid defensive and rebounding contributions by sophomore forward Karina Olsen who had a game high 8 rebounds.  Also playing a stellar game was sophomore captain Becca DeNicholas who had a career high 20 points, to which she added 5 boards and a game high 3 assists.

The Panthers play next on Saturday, February 16th at home versus the Red Devils of Eureka College.  The game will also be the celebration for the Panthers' seniors; tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
