The Eureka Red Devils defeated the Principia Panthers on Saturday afternoon by the score of 86 - 54. Their superior size, depth, and athleticism was too much for the Panthers to overcome as Mark Lesson and D.T. Thornton, for Eureka, were 14 - 19 in the paint, scoring 30 points between them. Principia won the 3 point battle as senior Stanley Beal, playing in his final home game for the Panthers, hit 4 3 pointers in the first half. Principia had three players in double figures, Stanley Beal 12, Kenny Sydness 11, and Damon Wilgus 17. Principia finishes their season on Monday and Tuesday with a back to back against Webster University and Westminster College. Eureka will play for the final playoff spot on Tueday night at MacMurray College. The winner will join Spalding, Westminster, and Webster in the conference tournament for a chance to go to the big dance.
