Spalding University takes three from Principia College baseball

Box Score Spalding, KY.- Spalding swept the Panthers in a three game conference series by the scores of 16-0, 10-2, and 18-0. The Panthers faced one of the top rotations in conference and were unable to muster enough offense. In game one Spalding used two six run innings to break the game open. The Panthers faced the top pitcher in conference Wes Phan who now holds a 6-0 record on the season. Offensively, the Panthers had plenty of quality at-bats finishing with 7 hits on the day, but couldn't muster any runs.

In game two Christian Thomas pitched a tough 6 innings and settled in after giving up 9 runs in the first two innings. Over the next five innings Christian held Spalding to one run. Offensively Darren Gude hit his first collegiate home run a solo blast in the 4th inning. Gavin Thomas also contributed with a double.

Game three Jake Elmore got the start on the mound. The Panthers again ran into trouble in the fourth and fifth inning as Spalding open the game up and the Panthers were not able to recover. The Panthers are back in action at home on Tuesday April 16th in a non-conference matchup with Lincoln Christian College starting at 5 pm.
