The bottom third of Principia' women's tennis team line-up are the only ones to score points in the match with Division II McKendree. The freshman players at the #5 and #6 position won their matches in both singles and doubles to put Principia on the Match score board.
Olivia Ikuma, #5 singles, and her doubles partner, #6 singles
Justine Roy won their opening doubles match 8-1 cruising past their opponents with deft lobs and strong volleys.
In the exciting #6 singles match Justine came from 5-2 to win the first set 7-5 and then win the second set 6-4. Justin played steady tennis and came to net when play dictated an approach to net. Justine was also able to draw her opponent into the net and then hit down the line passing shots. Olivia, #5 singles player, held off her opponent who took a 4-3 lead in the second set. Olivia Broke back and then went on to take the next three games and the set.
Tomorrow the team plays at home against Eureka, at 4:30. It is the last conference match of the season.
