Box Score JACKSONVILLE, ILL. -- Principia once again showed why they can be considered for the best freethrow shooting team in the conference as they went 18 - 21 from the line for 85.7% on Tuesday night against the MacMurray College Highlanders. However, their field goal percentage did not keep as they shot only 37% and 18% from beyond three. MacMurray on the other hand shot 50% from the field and 40% from long distance. The overwhelming statistic that indicates how the Highlanders won the game can be found in the rebounding column as they out rebounded the Panthers 44-19. The Highlanders put those 25 extra possessions to good use as they broke the game open in the second half and pulled away to a 94 - 60 victory.
Kenny Sydness and
Damon Wilgus led the Panthers with 15 points apiece.
Justin Ball had 13 points but was only able to pull down 1 rebound for the game as the highlanders dominated the boards. Principia's other super frosh, 6'6"
Sawyer Grow was never able to get on track and fouled out midway through the second half with only one basket. Senior,
Sean Neel did many good things for the Panthers - things that don't show up in the statistics, like great defense, running the floor, and setting up teammates. Principia travels to Webster on Thursday night for a conference matchup starting at 8:00.
