Volleyball loses to top Greenville team

Box Score GREENVILLE, ILL. -- The Greenville volleyball team put on a show tonight in a 3 game victory over Principia. In game one Greenville came out big and powerful hitting .364 with only one error. Prin's offense was laden with more errors than kills. Prin missed four serves in game one, and were aced four times as well. Phew – not a good start, and Greenville made us pay!

Game two showed progress for sure. We were 100% from the service line, hit more kills than errors, and were only aced once. The Panthers dug in and kept fighting for points, staying within two points until 18-20, but then Greenville slammed the door skunking Prin for the rest of the game 25-18.

Game three was the best effort of the night. Solid serving and more kills gave the Panthers hope, but four Prin passing errors gave Greenville too many easy points to contend with. Six kills from Tess Rountree and three from Sierra Sprague pumped the group up, and there were some great glimmers of Soul-full defense against Greenville's amped up hitting.

Greenville was all there tonight, and Prin was unable to compete – ouch! We can't wait for practice – time to work hard!
