Volleyball beats Eureka and Iowa Wesleyan with total team effort

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MOUNT PLEASANT, IA. -- Everyone on the team had solid on court contributions in two SLIAC wins today. Against Eureka, Principia served up 10 aces -  Summer Switzer leading the charge with five of her own, and Savanna Sprague and Tess Rountree adding two each, and Hannah McCauley one.

Offensively, all hitters were productive and killing the ball. Sierra Sprague hit a season high .571 with zero errors, and Tess hit .426 with 17 kills. Lily Richards added nine kills and Jess Bushong six. Principia played the match working on a diverse offense, and a tenacious defense. The Panthers did a nice job of taking advantage of every ball that came over, and were determined to convert with their gameplan.

In the match against Iowa Wesleyan Principia hit .252 as a team with only one error in game three. Both Jess and Tess scored 11 kills with one error in 26 swings – hitting .385! Setter Savanna was effective offensively with 4 kills of her own. Molly Moser and Tess set the pace defensively with 16 and 14 digs respectively. The Panthers were bold at the service line again with 8 aces. The serve receive was on target with great passing from Cha-Cha Fisher scoring 2.75 (out of 3), Emma Herman 2.5, and Hannah McCauley 2.3.

The Panthers take on Fontbonne University Tuesday, Oct. 28th in St. Louis.
