Box Score ELSAH, ILL. -- It was a rough night for the Panthers. Spalding started out slow and Prin was able to gain control and win game one 26-24. Game two started out in Prin's favor while Spalding kept committing hitting and serving errors. Prin was up 17-9 when Spalding started breaking out of their shell and catching up. All of a sudden it was 20-19, but with a few more hitting errors from Spalding - Prin was able to grab the win 25-22. Game three, four and five were a blur with Spalding firmly in control. They were hitting hard, and Prin was having a hard time blocking and digging. Spalding had two hitters banging away, Jessica Diehl with 17 kills (.500) and Victoria Heitzman with 18 kills. Spalding outhit Prin 57 kills to 42, and out-dug Prin as well. Prin struggled with too many errors, period. The backcourt passed pretty well with
Summer Switzer leading the team at 2.6 and
Sierra Sprague at 2.2.
Tess Rountree and
Sierra Sprague led the digging with 21 apiece.
The Panthers will need to rebound quickly to go after the win on Saturday against Eureka at 11am. We hope to see you there!
