Greencastle, Ind--
The Principia women's tennis team began their NCAA Division III competition against #13 DePauw. Although the Lady Panthers competed well they were outplayed by the more experienced DePauw players. The best competition was at #1 doubles. The Principia duo started the match with two breaks of serve, but they were unable to consolidate the lead by winning their own serves. The Tiger team then went on to win the match 8-2. A crucial game was at 5-2 with Principia's
Hanne Andersen serving, the game went and forth to deuce at least eight times before DePauw broke serve.
In singles Principia's
Hanne Andersen playing #2 singles won the first set but was not able to keep the momentum going her way. Her opponent was more consistent and offensive in the second set and third set tie-breaker and took the match.
The Panther's remain at DePauw for a second match tomorrow against Ohio Wesleyan.
