Box Score 2 ELSAH, ILL. -- GAME 1 Principia – 7 Blackburn - 5What a difference a day makes! After playing in the snow against a team that everything they hit seemed to find a hole, Principia bounced back with a great effort. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the 1
st inning and then added 3 more in the 2
nd. In the middle innings they lost a little of their energy and looked to be cruising. Blackburn, never giving up, rallied in the 7
th with 4 runs but Principia managed to close out the game to seal the victory.
Ashley Shoemake had an outstanding defensive game at 2
nd base in this one.
Christine Nacewicz picked up 2 hits along with 2 runs, 2 RBI's and one of her hits was a triple.

Genevieve Smith all had a hit in this game with Casey, Thanda and Kelsey all scoring 1 or more runs. It was a good balanced attack in this game
GAME 2 Principia - 10 Blackburn – 8Still maybe a little in the 'cruise' mode from Game 1 Principia gave up 3 runs to Blackburn in the top of the 1
st inning. That was the first wakeup call Principia needed in this game. They answered with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1
st and added 3 more in the 2
nd. Much like Game 1 though the team seemed to back off of the sense of urgency to get things done and gradually let Blackburn back into the game giving up a 7-3 lead and falling behind 8-7 in the 5
th. That was the second wakeup call and the team answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 5
th to retake the lead and then added some insurance with 1 more run in the 6
th.
Casey Lee closed out the game on the mound to secure the win. Casey threw both games of the doubleheader and battled all night never giving up and giving her team a chance to win both games.

Thanda Kyaw and Sam Bronkar all had 2 hits in this game as the team put together a very well balanced attack including 11 hits.

Genevieve Smith all got a hit. Jessy came through with 3 runs, Thanda and "Nac" scored 2 and Casey, Ashley and Gen all scored once. Great to see this offense back in gear!
