Elsah, Illinois--Carlie Sanderude, Principia #1 singles player, continues undefeated in conference play. Today, was Carlie's Senior Day where she was honored for her participation on the Principia women's tennis team. She and her partner,
Hanne Andersen, the #1 doubles duo continue undefeated in conference. They won 8-1 playing agressively at the net. The other Principia doubles teams,
Kelly Adams and
AC McMullen, at #2 doubles won without conceding a game. At third doubles,
Justine Roy and
Meg Andersen won handedly 8-3.
All of the singles players won their matches in straight sets. Carlie, playing #1 singles, made very few errors and defeated her opponent without giving up a game. Freshman,
AC McMullen, playing #4 singles in her third conference match, defeated her opponent using her all court game. AC mixed up slices with her forcing groundstrokes. Many of her points ended with her pounding overheads out of reach of her opponent.
Kelly Adams, #2 singles played steady tennis and only lost one game in two sets. At #2, #5 and #6 singles,
Hanne Andersen,
Justine Roy and
Lena Carlson executed well forcing their opponents into errors.
Principia also won the exhibition matches.
Lily Richards and
Nathalie DeLoach played 4th doubles, and #7 and #8 singles. They only gave up a few games. The results of all the matches are below.
