Volleyball faces tough competition

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ROCK ISLAND, ILL. -- The volleyball team started day two of the Augustana Viking tourney competing against 24 th in the nation Cornell College. They were a very solid team with an impressive offensive lineup, and they put up an effective wall of blockers too.  Prin competed to take Cornell out of their game, and had some success on that front, however Cornell controlled the match beating Prin in three games. Prin dug in to defend the hard hitting Cornell squad - Tess 17 digs, Summer 12, Sierra and Molly with 11, and Savanna with 8.

Prin finished up the tourney playing Aurora College. The team stayed competitive the entire match, but couldn't grab the victory. A few too many service errors, passing errors, and digging errors gave Aurora some unearned momentum and they made the best of it.

However, Tess Rountree earned her All-tourney team status putting down 19 kills, hitting .308. She added 16 digs, a solo block and a service ace to the outing. Savanna and Sierra Sprague each chipped in five kills to strengthen the Panther attack, and Summer Switzer led the defense with 21 digs.
