Men's soccer struggles continue in 2-0 loss to Aurora University

Box Score AURORA, ILL. - Principia men's soccer's quest for that elusive win continued on Saturday afternoon in Aurora, IL against a team that had not yet lost a game this season.  The Spartans played like a group that was out to maintain their level of consistency.  Unfortunately, the Panthers were also content to be consistent and found themselves in an unseasonably usual predicament.  A bungled effort on the back post on a short corner kick play would begin their unraveling as a Spartan attacker's second reaction was quickest as he pounded a loose ball in the box in the back of the net.  This proved to be the game winner despite the Panthers attempt to take the game to their opponents.  A solid effort by rookie Victor DeCastro was noteworthy as he finally showed promising flashes of his potential in the game. Leif Carlson and Kevin Silcox continued their consistent level of performance for the Panthers despite a late second half goal by the Spartans to wrap up the proceedings.  Principia now gets a much needed week off before going on the road again to face Franklin College on Friday in Franklin, IN at 8:00 pm EST.
