Box Score FRANKLIN, IN: Principia's quest for a win continues and tonight they put up a spirited fight against a solid and well organized Grizzlies side. A costly turnover in the middle of the park compounded the Panther's issues as they failed to cope with the Grizzlies attackers in transition resulting in a clinical finish in the 12th minute of play. Before the Panthers could collect themselves, they were picking up the ball from the back of the net as the grizzlies doubled up their lead in the 22nd minute. The Panthers would respond shortly after in the 29th minute when an effective press resulted in
Kevin Silcox picking off a pass from a Grizzlies midfielder before releasing
McGuire Semnacher with a pass that split two defenders. Semnacher held off both defenders to slip the ball past the keeper for his first of the season. Five minutes later
Ross Furbush's persistence resulted in a corner kick opportunity which Waters took. His service found a wide open
Leif Carlson who picked his corner before volleying a thumper in the back of the net to tie the game before the end of the first half.
The second half began with great hopes but ended in the 67th minute when a callous foul in the box by the Panthers resulted in a penalty kick which was converted for the win by the Grizzlies. The loss leaves a reeling Panther side at 0-7 as they travel south tomorrow to face Hanover College in Hanover, IN. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 pm (EST).
