Box Score Tuesday night the Principia Panthers traveled to Eureka to play the Red Devils in a conference match-up. Throughout the first half the teams traded baskets, but with 1:13 left in the half and Eureka leading by 4, the Panthers lost steam, and Eureka went into the locker room with a 14-point lead. The game got away from the Panthers, and they could not recover.
Joey Sander was a bright spot for Principia, scoring 22 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. No other Panther was able to reach double figures. Eureka's balanced attack was led by Sam James with 17 points. Four other Red Devils were to score in double figures. Eureka outpaced the Panthers in almost every category: rebounds 41-33. assists 17-11, turnovers 15-21, blocks 4-3, steals 13-4, and freethrows 12-9. The final score was Eureka 76 and Principia 49. Principia will look to jump back into the winning column on Saturday, January 17, against conference rival Iowa Wesleyan. Game time 3:00 p.m.
