Principia falls to Westminster College 67-56

Box Score FULTON, MO. - The Panthers of Principia traveled to Fulton, MO on Tuesday night for a conference game against the Blue Jays of Westminster College. Once again the Panthers fell short after a hard fought, close contest. The score at half time was 23 all, and with 8 minutes left in the game the defensive battle had both teams with 37 points. A tough charging call against Dorian Watkins that could have been an and one was instead a turn around followed by a three pointer for Westminster. Prin was never able to get closer than three points in the remaining minutes and Westminster closed the game out from the line. Larry Patterson had an outstanding game with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Parker Davidson led all rebounders with 11, (9 at the defensive end)  to go along with his 9 points on the night. Once again, Principia's center Justin Ball got in early foul trouble and was never able to get his game going, ending with just 5 points. Although Principia won the rebound battle, they were unable to contend with Westminster's torrid second half shooting, including 7-12 from the beyond the arc. Principia also lost the free throw contest, making only 14 of 25 attempts from the charity stripe. Principia will next host Eureka College this coming Saturday at home.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
