Box Score Elsah, IL. -- Principia competed against Greenville College on Tuesday night. In the first half, Principia worked to connect passes and expose Greenville's pockets of space to attack. Principia had a couple of close attempts breaking down the flanks of the field, while Greenville was also able to test Principia's goalkeeper,
Genevieve Smith. However, both Smith and her back line stayed disciplined to keep their team in the game. At the end of the first half, the game was tied 0-0.
In the second half, Principia continued to demonstrate hard work and perseverance. In the 68th minute, Greenville capitalized on Principia's slow-to-step and was able to beat the line to put one in the net. Principia responded by not giving up. Senior and captain,
Georgia Mae Hurley, led her team by showing everyone that she wasn't going to quit. The team played with this mentality until the end. Unfortunately, Greenville was able to find the net again when there was a misclearance out of the back. The final score was 2-0 for Greenville.
Principia looks forward to their next conference match on Saturday against Iowa-Wesleyan for Homecoming.
