Men's swim and dive win dual meet

Elsah, ILL-- Men's swimming and diving hosted Illinois College for today's meet.  Due to solid performances, our men won the meet 95-55.  There were many first place finishes and new season best records.  At today's meet we also recognized senior Josh Harmon for his hard work and commitment to the program during his four years.   
 
Kicking off the meet, Zacher Lewis took first place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.48, also earning him a new season best record.  Next Josh Harmon placed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.98 earning a new season best record.  Hunter Mehring followed Harmon's performance with a first place finish in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.65.  Harmon returned to the blocks to swim another season best record for a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time 48.37.  Teammate Nick Boyd also swam the 100 yard freestyle for a third place finish and new season best time of 1:00.99.  Lewis and teammate Brett Huntley placed first and second in the 100 yard backstroke.  Lewis swimming a 1:03.65 and Huntley swimming a 1:06.69.  Mehring continued the men's success with a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 59.76.  The men finished the meet with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay-Lewis, Huntley, Mehring, Harmon- for a time of 1:32.72.      
 
After diving earlier in the morning at our home's diving invitational, Jesse Dehnert completed another 12 total dives and won the one-meter and three-meter boards.  On the one-meter board, Dehnert earned a new season best score.
 
Our men will compete again at Liberal Arts, February 12-14.
