Greenville defeats Principia, 18-2

Box Score GREENVILLE, ILL. - The Panthers of Principia College journeyed to Greenville, IL, to take on the Panthers of Greenville College on Friday night. Greenville played solid, consistent baseball from start to finish while Principia failed to do the same. Greenville scored in each of the seven innings and ultimately prevailed in an 18-2 romping.

Principia connected for six hits but also committed three errors which proved to be costly as Greenville capitalized on each of the errors made by Principia. On the other hand, Greenville pieced together 15 hits and committed just one error.

Notable performances from tonight's game were sparse due to the incosistent all-around play. However, Gavin Thomas and Logan McDowell each continued to find success at the plate. Both of them had a pair of hits while Bryce Miller and Hunter Mehring were the only other Panthers to hit safely in tonight's contest.

Principia will look to bounce back from this painful loss in Saturday's doubleheader against Greenville. Principia is the home team and game times are scheduled for 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Look for Saturday's games to be far more competitive than Friday nights matchup.
