Greenville defeats Panthers in lop-sided affair 88-32

Box Score GREENVILLE, Ill. – Tonight the women's basketball team was at Greenville College to play their latest conference match-up of the week, and the first meeting for the two Panther teams this season.  Greenville brought the defensive pressure from the beginning, and despite knowing about the Greenville style of play, the Panthers could not get into a viable offense to put points on the board.  Although down just 10-19 after the first quarter, Principia would give up 25 points in the second quarter alone, as the offensive onslaught from Greenville shooting guard Taylor Paulin and solid inside scoring from senior Greenville Panther Coley Baker proved too much for Principia to handle.  Turnovers and missed rebounding opportunities contributed to the lop-sided result (Principia turned the ball over 28 times) and at the end of forty minutes, Greenville came away with the 88-32 victory.  Senior captain Kara Johnson was the only Principia Panther in double digits tonight with 16 points.  Freshman center Sophia Hathaway contributed 7 points, as well as 3 blocks.

The Panthers will be back in action right away with a home game against St. Mary of the Woods College tomorrow at 6:00 pm.
