Tough loss for men's soccer against Greenville

Box Score

GREENVILLE, IL-- The Principia men's soccer team lost to Greenville College 3-1.   The men were scored on in first 9:00 off of corner.  Then late in the half Greenville took a 25 yard shot that deflected off a Principia defender and into the goal.  Greenville's third goal came early in second half off a defensive mixup.   Principia freshman Gabriel Ferreria Theodoro  scored an acrobatic volley off a Briggs Hurley cross in the waning seconds of the game to put Principia on the board.  Coach Jess Semnacher remarked after the match, "our men worked hard, but it was not our day.  We made some mistakes in dangerous areas and did not capitalize when we got our chances.   It's a shame it took so long to find a goal.  We just need to figure out how to score earlier and play cleaner on defense and we will be fine moving forward".

Principia men's soccer plays Spalding University at home this Thursday at 8:00 PM.
