Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, ILL. – The Panthers traveled to Greenville, IL, to take on the Panthers of Greenville College this evening. Principia did not have their best outings tonight, as they dropped both contests. They fell in game one, 11-1, and then lost, 12-2, in game two.
One bright spot tonight was that
Jake Kearney threw two scoreless innings out of the bullpen in the first game. Kearney also struck out three in his relief appearance. However, the Panthers committed three errors in both games this evening, which enabled Greenville's potent offense to extend several innings.
Offensively, the Panthers collected six hits in each game tonight.
Connor Coyne,
Hunter Mehring,
Aleq McMullin,
Parker Davidson, and
Zach Grennie, each had two hits tonight.
Jake Kearney and
Parker Tibbetts each had one base hit.
The Panthers will look to get back on track and play fundamentally-sound baseball this weekend. They next play at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, IL, versus the top team in the SLIAC, the Webster Gorloks. Game times are set for 5:00 and 7:30 p.m. The Panthers' next home game is this Saturday at 12:00 noon versus the Washington University Bears!
