Box Score Elsah, IL-- The Principia Women's Soccer team lost a hard fought battle in their first home opener today against Illinois College. Although the Panthers were down two goals, they kept their intensity up and dominated the last 25 minutes of the first half, with
Rachel Perea scoring her first collegiate goal of the season making it a 2-1 game.Â

Illinois College got their third goal early in the second half. The Panthers stayed in the game and created some great offensive opportunities but unfortunately were unable to find the net.Â

Outstanding performances today by
Rachel Perea for tenacity in front of the net,
Hannah Hathaway for her aggression and poise in the back line, and
Chrissy Fredrikson for her calm distribution of the ball in mid field.Â

The Panthers play again this Friday at home against Rhodes College at 6:00 pm.Â
