Volleyball pulls out another dramatic victory

Godfrey, ILL. -- Principia volleyball pulled out a doozie tonight, beating Lewis & Clark 24-22 in the deciding match. Yep, the 5th set is supposed to be played to 15 points, unless both teams are determined to fight! These two teams played gritty, smart volleyball, and you could feel dogged determination in the air.

Inside the Box Score:

· Principia passed quite well tonight with Cha Cha Fisher leading the pack at 2.9, and Noelle Shoemake close behind at 2.8.

· Sophia Hathaway and Emily Tippetts shouldered a majority of the offense with 25 and 23 kills respectively.

· Amanda Roberts donned the Libero jersey tonight and dug a career high 28 hits, as well as serving up 2 aces.

They said it:

· Sophia Hathaway's explanation of how the team got this "w', "As a team we decided to dig deep. We knew we were not going down without a fight and needed to work together to get the W. There was a definite mental shift in thought that translated into better and more fierce play out on the court."
