Women's Basketball falls to Lewis and Clark in a tough away game

Godfrey, ILL. -- The Women's Basketball team played Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Ill. The Panthers were down by seven at halftime, but Lewis and Clark outplayed the Panthers the second half scoring 52 points. The full court pressure by Lewis and Clark was too much for the Panthers and contributed to the team's many turnovers. The Panthers also had a tough time defending their tall players in the paint as Lewis and Clark had 24 offensive rebounds.

Key moment:
Sophia Hathaway led the Panthers in scoring with 14 points and Megan Selby was right behind her with 11 points.

Good to know:
Principia will play Lewis and Clark again in January and look forward to giving them a better game.

Nikki Matters and Anna Webster have returned from their Principia abroad trip to Peru and will be playing in the Panther's next game on December 15th.  It will be great to have all 11 players available.

They said it:
"After a strong start, the Panthers were worn down by the Lewis and Clark pressure," shared Assistant Coach Rich Eisenauer.

Up next:
The Panthers will be the home team on Friday, December 15th when they play Robert Morris Springfield on the Principia St. Louis campus.  The game is at 6:00 pm and in Carey Field House.
