Baseball topped by D'Youville in first game of spring break

Box Score Auburndale, FL. - The Panthers opened their Florida trip up with a single game against the D'Youville Spartans (Buffalo, NY). Despite scoring the first two runs of the game, the Panthers gave up a couple of big innings and fell 17-5 in seven innings.

Ed Bargmann reached base safely in all three of his plate appearances including a pair of hits. Bargmann is currently leading the SLIAC, boasting a .483 batting average through the first nine games of the season. Hunter Mehring also tallied two hits on the day in addition to sending a ball into orbit that curved foul just before leaving the park. Sean Hannan, Parker Davidson and Zach Grennie all collect a bit apiece. Ryan Eisenauer contributed with a base knock of his own in his lone plate appearance.

The Spartans collected 19 hits in six innings which was good for 17 runs. The Panthers surrendered a couple of big innings which ended up being the difference in the game.

The Panthers look to get back on track tomorrow as they take on Crown College at 12:00 noon EST at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida.
