Baseball finishes spring break strong with 2 wins over D'Youville

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Auburndale, FL. - The Panthers ended their Florida trip in style, winning both games against the D'Youville Spartans. They took game one 2-1 and then ran away with game two, 13-1.

Game 1
Alex Stamos received the nod on the mound for the Panthers and pitched a great game. Stamos threw a complete game and only allowed one unearned run while compiling 10 strikeouts.

Liam Foster led the charge offensively as he collected a pair of base hits. Jeff Ross and Bryce Murray each had a base hit and accounted for both RBIs in game one.

Game 2
Sean Hannan started on the hill and turned in a very good outing. Hannan hurled 3.2 innings and allowed just one run on four hits and struck out six. Parker Tibbetts relieved Hannan and did a phenomenal job. Tibbetts threw the last 3.1 innings and struck out five without surrendering a run.

Offensively the Panthers received contributions from everyone in the lineup. The bats came alive in game two as they collected 15 hits. Stephen Strong played a great game as he chipped in with three hits. Ed Bargmann, Zach Grennie and Jeff Ross all had hits which helped propel the Panthers in game two.

The Panthers improved to 7-5 on the year and have momentum on their side as they travel to Eureka, IL, to take on Eureka College this Saturday afternoon in a conference double header. Thank you again to all the fans who came out to the ballpark over spring break.
