Men's Swimming takes a loss and pulls a win in double dual meet

Elsah, ILL. –Friday night, the Principia Men's Swim Team competed against Hendrix College and Williams Baptist University in a sprint double dual meet. During this meet the men were able to swim the short order of events, which is usually a faster paced and fun meet. This meet allowed for the team to rev their engines and get the experience of a back-to-back meet before the Liberal Arts Championship meet. The men lost to Hendrix (29-149); however, were able to pull a win against Williams Baptist University (78-27).

Throughout the meet there were a few bests that were swum. Starting with sophomore Liam Anderson, he achieved bests in his 100 Free (54.65) and 50 Breast (31.20). For both of the events he had a season, unshaved lifetime, and lifetime best. Specifically in his 100 Freestyle, he improved with a drop in time of 1.69 seconds, which is great! Junior captain Garrett Barner also achieved bests today. He achieved an unshaved lifetime and lifetime best in his 50 Fly with a time of 26.02. Sophomore Walker Hannigan achieved a season and unshaved lifetime best in both his 50 Free (23.79) and 100 Free (54.01). Lastly, freshman Josh Williams had two season bests today in the 200 Free (2:11.59) and the 50 Back (32.99). Josh improved in his 200 Free with a drop in time of 7.22 seconds, which is absolutely fantastic!

The night ended with high-fives and some pizza for the team. The team will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, January 27th as they host 9 other teams in the Panther Invitational starting at 1pm.
