Second half struggles for PCWS allowed Greenville to run away with the win

Greenville, ILL. -- The Principia College Panthers traveled to Greenville College to take on their Panthers in another conference matchup.

The second part of a double-header, Principia took the field about 7:45pm after the double overtime game of the men.

It took less than a minute for the turnover and first goal to take place. Principia found themselves down 0-1 early. But Principia did not let that deter them. They fought and attacked and Greenville had to use subs to keep fresh legs in order to keep up with Principia working hard. That hard work paid off as Principia mounted an attack that couldn't be stopped. Madi Arens made a wide run calling for the ball from Sarai Marcano and pulling defenders. Marcano instead used the space created and found the back of the net. Greenville scored one more time in the half, but Principia was still very much in it.

The second half did not go as well. Principia gave up several more goals by not doing what they have been working on and talking about in practices. Hannah Hathaway again worked her tail off in goal. Principia almost scored in the final moments but just couldn't pull it off. The final was 1-7.

The Principia Panthers travel to Iowa for a conference matchup against Iowa Wesleyan this Saturday the 13th.
