Elsah, ILL. -- Principia hosted Spalding tonight and came away with a season sweep beating Spalding 25-14, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21. This puts the Panthers at 12-3 in SLIAC competition.
The Panthers did a nice job of pushing the tempo and creating some dimension to their offense.
Jessica Bayne was on fire with 11 kills hitting .276.
Noelle Shoemake and
Sophia Hathaway had some fine connections on quick attacks, and setter
Devon Marunde was at the center of it all! Devon also lit it up at the service line with 3 aces. The team combined for 9 aces. Spalding showed real spirit with their game progressing throughout the match. They did a great job running balls down, and they hit aggressively and had some hard to return serves. The Panthers sputtered in game three, but built back up to a bold consistent game by the end.
The Panthers have two more home matches tomorrow at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Come on down to Hay Fieldhouse!
