Elsah, ILL. – The Women's Basketball team hosted Lewis and Clark Community College in their first home game of the season. Principia had their best half of the season keeping close and only behind 32-21 at half. The Panthers played tough defense and came out at halftime ready to continue their good play. Unfortunately, Lewis and Clark scored 28 in the 3
rd quarter with many points coming off their press. Turnovers were costly for Principia, but the players continued to hustle to the end.
Good to Know:
Nikki Matters was the high scorer for the Panthers with 22 points, including three 3 pt. shots.
Sophia Hathaway scored 12, including 2 for 2 from the line. She was aggressive on the boards and blocked 3 shots. All players contributed in the game and
Sabrina Netherwood was 2 for 2 also from the line.
They said it:
"It was a great first half as the players really were in control on offense and played well defensively. Areas needing work continue to be playing tough help defense and eliminating costly turnovers. Lewis and Clark plays a fast tempo game and pressed for 3 quarters. It was a good competitive game and we look forward to our next opponent."
