Principia Volleyball knew what they needed to do to compete for a win against Greenville, but they only did half the job. The women kept middle Anna Finch below her average swings, and they even made Abby Freeman swing at more balls NOT from the setter, but Anna and Abby accepted the challenge and put the ball away better than their average. When those two are happy, and #14 Whitney Nichols is on her game – it spells "trouble" – like an 0-3 loss for Principia.
Greenville hit .325 as a team, while Principia hit a paltry .096. Principia did a decent job of making setter Abby Quirin prioritize defense more than setting, but the lady Panthers couldn't convert into their own kills. Both teams swung at 114 balls, and Greenville picked up 67 digs compared to Prin's 57. Principia was better at the service line with a 6:4 Ace to Error ratio compared to Greenville's 4:10, and four of those aces came from
Nikki Matters.
Sophia Hathaway led the offense with an effective 12 kills.
After Greenville beat Webster winning the bid to be the SLIAC team to head to the National tournament, Principia Volleyball was well represented at the Awards ceremony for the SLIAC season.
